k. Inaugural Concert 2022: Song of Joy Song of Hope

It is our yearly tradition to hold the Inaugural Concert as a celebration to officially welcome our Secondary 1 choristers into our choir family,  a family that is  firm yet fun.

It is also an opportunity for us to showcase to our parents,  students, alumni as well as  teachers, our growth and development as a choir.

This batch of choristers is a special batch as they had to live through he pandemic years form 2020 to 2022 where they had to practice through zoom or wear mask in order to sing.

Performing the first song Frozen

The repertoire for the evening include Frozen,  It all right , Esto Les Digo. and Totoro Medley.

The MFSS Choir Alumni post concert with Mr. Gabrial Cheow.

Presenting a token of appreciation

As a token of appreciation, Joanna presented our choir conductor Mr. Xei with a bouquet.

In MFSS Choir, we instill in our chorister that practice that the performance is only 1/3 of the whole process.

The next step is to do post production reflection. With these reflections, students will be able to learn from their experience and will be able to make improvement in their next performance.

Here is a reflections from one of our Sec 1 member.

From Arisa Wu 1I Soprano

This concert was an extremely fulfilling experience. The days leading up to the concert was quite stressful as in that same week, our WA had commenced. With the many extra practices and sectionals, we had to maximize our time to the fullest at home, memorizing our scores and studying at the same time.

We did have some troubles and worries along the preparation, though it all worked out and we were able to see it through. Even though we had these hardships, I would definitely want to do this again.

I felt so proud after the concert. People came up to me telling me how nice the singing was and I’m quite sure all of us performing enjoyed the concert too.

After the concert we were so happy, a few people were tearing but once Mr. Xie gave a speech to us, a lot of us burst into tears as his words touched a lot of us.

Our alumni came and helped us a lot with the songs. They are definitely our role model as they could sing very well.

Our Sec4s that just stepped down this year came to support us too. I think that made me extra joyful as I could see the proud look on their faces as they were once the ones that had taught us.

The clapping, screams and cheers made us all smile a little more on stage and calmed our nervousness down by leaps and bounds.

I feel that this great result was only possible because of the effort Mr. Xie, our conductor, and our CCA teachers. In a nutshell, this experience was a special and exhilarating one. I would love to be able to do this again.
